‘Bar of Hope’ Fundraiser Continues in Orlando!

Doorstep Delivery is so thankful to those who have already donated to the “Bar of Hope” campaign to end hunger!

WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE TO BARofHOPE PROJECT?

When children are malnourished, their development is compromised. This often results in stunted growth, diminished brain and cognitive functions and a weakened immune system, so they are more susceptible to chronic infections and disease.

Malnutrition is the condition that develops when the body does not get the right amount of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it needs to maintain healthy tissues and organ function.

Your generous contribution will help nourish the most vulnerable individuals in our area. Please consider making a contribution when checking out. Save a life today!

History of Doorstep Delivery

Doorstep Delivery

Doorstep Delivery is a restaurant marketing company (also known as Doorstepdelivery.com) that also coordinates delivery for restaurants that do not offer delivery in several cities in the United States. Doorstep Delivery has currently 17 active branches located in over 115 cities in the US and expanding into several additional cities by the end of 2015. Doorstep Delivery is currently generating over $20 million in annual sales.

History and Current Business Model

The first Doorstep Delivery was established February 29, 2008 by William Moore and Andrew Brown. They joined partners with Tom Colangelo, who started one of the first restaurant marketing and delivery services in Gainesville, Florida. This service, called Gatorfood.com, was established in 1999 and grew to over $2 million in sales in the first 3 years. The owners have successfully setup and established successful branches all over the United States.

The company in Gainesville was first named GatorFood.com and expanded to Capital City Food in Tallahassee with Daniel Sinor in 2006.  Both Tom Colangelo and Daniel Sinor created a profitable company within 3 months with Capital City Food in Tallahassee in 2006.

With the merger, the names of all locations were changed to Doorstep Delivery in 2011 and the official website became www.DoorstepDelivery.com.  The business model changed into a franchise model as well, with all locations being renamed to Doorstep Delivery in 2011.

Doorstep Delivery typically charges $3.99 for online delivery orders. Food delivery is often quoted on average as 55 minutes. Current restaurants for delivery through Doorstep Delivery include Chili’s, T.G.I.Friday’s, Bento Café, Chuy’s , Jersey Mike’s Subs, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, California Pizza Kitchen, and several other large national restaurant chains in the United States. Doorstep Delivery also delivers for “mom-and-pop” restaurants that are locally owned.

The service specializes in large group orders and delivering to niche locations including the beach, hotels, office buildings, and hospitals. The Doorstep Delivery service is also integrated with online services such as Yelp, GrubHub, and Eat24. Doorstep Delivery also offers concierge service on large orders for groups or organizations.

Introducing Group Orders!

Placing a Group Order

Group Ordering is a feature that allows large groups to place multiple orders all going onto one ticket with just one delivery fee. Either have one person pay for the entire office or have each person pay for their own with split payments. Ordering for a group has never been easier!

How It Works

  1. From the homepage, enter in your address and press “Find Restaurants”.
  2. Find the restaurant of your choice and click the blue “Group Orders” button.
  3. Set the details of your order, including the date and time of delivery and the payment option.
  4. Enter in the email addresses of all participants. You can also save this list for future use.
  5. Place your order as normal. All participants will receive an email invitation and can place their orders on their computer. If anyone needs to be added once the order has begun, you will find the link at the top of the page that can be forwarded.
  6. Once every other participant has completed their order, the Group Order originator will be able to submit the final order. Remember that the Group Order originator will be responsible for the delivery fee and any processing fees.
  7. Sit back and wait for your meal to arrive! Happy Dining :)

Coming Soon: Group Orders through Doorstep Delivery!

Be on the lookout for a brand new feature that will be premiering on for all DoorstepDelivery’s next week: Group Ordering!

Group Ordering is a new feature targeted towards large groups trying to place one order, such as businesses or doctor’s offices. There are two options- 1) One person can begin a group order and invite their office. This person will pay for the total order or 2) One person can begin a group order and invite their office. Each person would then place their own order with their own payment, but the total order would come in as one with just one delivery fee.

This is a very exciting feature that should make ordering very easy for large groups! For more details, please watch this video:

We should be launching this feature Tuesday, May 28th! We will update this blog once live. Thanks!
