From the Charlotte Observer:
Doorstep Delivery, a restaurant marketing & delivery service, is now available in Charlotte.
The service is available via a smartphone app that is designed to serve both customers and restaurants: it offers dine-in coupons, space for restaurants to display awards and promotional pieces, and a mapping feature to help customers locate restaurants if they opt to pick up orders themselves.
Service became available in Charlotte last weekend, according to the company’s Facebook page.
“We designed Doorstep Delivery to benefit consumers and to benefit restaurants,” co-founder Andrew Brown said in a statement.
According to the local Doorstep Delivery’s website, service is available half off for all first-time customers who use the coupon code “DDLAUNCH.”
The service delivers from several restaurants in Charlotte, including McAlister’s Deli, Cold Stone Creamery, American Roadside and P.F. Chang’s. Delivery areas include uptown, SouthPark, Ballantyne, Pineville, Barclay Downs, Dilworth, Foxcroft, Myer’s Park, Cotswold and the Carowinds area.
Doorstep Delivery was started in Gainesville, Fla., in 1999 and has since expanded across the Southeast and into Denver and Dallas. By next month the service will be available in 150 U.S. cities. The service facilitates deliveries to almost 1,200 restaurants total.
Another delivery service called Postmates launched last month.
